The Bakos Compound
The Bakos Compound
The Bakos compound consists of four cubes aligned so that each shares a diagonal with the base cube. One of the four cubes can be produced by rotating a cube in standard position around a diagonal by , and then turning this cube around the vertical axis to produce the three remaining cubes. The symmetries can be emphasized by showing the original cube, that is, the compound of 5 cubes. By varying the number of cubes and rotating and turning angles, you can study various compounds, including the compound of 2 cubes, shown by choosing the original cube and one additional cube.
