Euclid Book 5
Book 5 covers a theory of proportion attributed to Eudoxus. Irrational magnitudes such as the golden ratio can be handled by this theory. Definitions 8-10 handle geometric progression. Props. 1, 3 and 7 give the distributivity law, associative multiplication and multiplicative inverses. There are no constructions in this book.
