GTTubeParameters

GTTubeParameters[n,m]

calculates the important geometric properties of single wall carbon nano tubes (n,m).

Details and Options

  • Single wall carbon nanotubes are created by "rolling up" a part of a graphene layer. The corresponding graphene layer is characterized by the real space unit vectors a_1 and a_2. The following properties are calculated:
  • Chiral vector:
  • Length of
  • Diameter:
  • Chiral angle:
  • translational vector: , ,
  • Length of
  • Number of hexagons per unit cell:
  • The symmetry vector is the site vector, having the smallest component in direction of . The vector consists of a rotation around the axis by an angle combined with a translation (pitch). Symmetry vector: .
  • Pitch of :
  • Rotation angle :
  • Number of in :
  • The following options can be given:
  • GOLattice {a1}Rescales the lattice constant
GOVerbose FalseControls the output of additional information

Basic Examples  (1)

First load the package:

Now the essential parameters of a (9,0) single wall nanotube are calculated.

Options  (2)

GOLattice  (1)

The structural information can be generated in a scaled form, i.e. the lattice constant is set to 1.

All data can be calculated with the corresponding lattice constant (given in Angstrom).

GOVerbose  (1)

Usually only a list of the parameters is provided.

With GOVerboseTrue a table with all the information is generated.
